Understanding the Agronomy of Intercropping
Join the Soil Association for a webinar on management of intercrops – including discussion of weed and pest control, species mixes, seed rates and the latest research.
Intercropping, growing two or more crops in the field at the same time, is a practice which has the potential to increase farming resilience and reduce chemical and fertiliser use on UK farms. One barrier to its uptake that has been a lack of knowledge about the agronomy of growing mixed crops, specifically around weed and pest control but also around species selection and seeding ratios.
This webinar is aimed at giving some guidance and links to existing research on this important aspect of getting intercrops to work from industry experts and researchers.
