Zoom into Soil Webinar: Perspectives on Regenerative Farming
The British Society of Soil Science is pleased to announce the next Zoom into Soil webinar will take place on Thursday 19 June from 12:00 – 1:00pm (UK time) and is free of charge to register. Join Prof. Jonathan Storkey, agroecologist at Rothamsted Research, and Dr. Jenny Bussell, Principal Scientist at The Allerton Project, as they discuss Perspectives on Regenerative Farming. The webinar is organised in partnership with BSSS Corporate member, Rothamsted Research.
Prof. Jon Storkey is an agroecologist with a background in sustainable weed management. He has been following with interest the growth in regenerative farming practices and is interested in how the concept can be defined and the benefits quantified. He is leading on a new long-term trial at Rothamsted that is monitoring the effect of reduced tillage, organic amendments and crop diversification on soils, crops and biodiversity.
Dr Jenny Bussell is a soil scientist with a background in greenhouse gas emissions soil health and carbon sequestration. Jenny currently runs the agri-environmental research at the Allerton Project, which includes agroforestry, bio-stimulants, biochar and a long-running trial on both the profitability and soil health aspects of regenerative farming.
The webinar includes one hour BASIS and NRoSO CPD points.
