Event
Argyll Women In Agriculture – Ice cream, Biodiversity and Diversification
Join Argyll WIA at Achinreir Farm, with its fold of pedigree Highland Cattle, to see how the business manages conservation grazing to benefit biodiversity, and has diversified, keeping and milking its own cows and making ice cream on farm from scratch with natural, sustainable ingredients.
Hear how the business has diversified into making and serving their own ice cream, as Highland Fold Ice Cream, in their on-farm cafe, as well as at events and shows, and hosting walks to meet their Highland cows.
Lunch is provided so booking is essential.
The Farm Advisory Service has been running WIA events since 2017. The discussion groups and the Facebook group are open to all women working in Scottish agriculture, from those with daily involvement in a farm business, to those who are just starting out and interested in finding out more about farming. New attendees are always welcome, and you are welcome to join any meeting even if it is not in your local area. Meetings vary from daytime workshops to evening seminars. Find out more about their other WIA events here.
