Carbon Farmer of the Year Farm Walk: Tregooden Farm, Cornwall
Farm Carbon Toolkit are pleased to invite you to a farm walk with Tregooden Farm’s Malcolm and Catherine Barrett, who are employing a range of management practices to minimise greenhouse gas emissions from the farm.
Former dairy farmers, Malcolm and Catherine now run a successful beef enterprise and have introduced rotational grazing of both pasture and cover crops, as well as outwintering on fodder beet. Minimum tillage has reduced crop establishment fuel use to 9 litres per hectare and artificial fertiliser use has been reduced by over 60%. In addition to this, significant investment has been made in natural capital features across the farm to benefit wildlife as well as increase carbon sequestration. Join this event to hear about all of this and more!
Malcolm and Catherine were Runners-up in the 2025 Carbon Farmer of the Year Awards.
This event will take place outside, please wear suitable clothing and footwear. Light refreshments will be provided before the walk.
