Expanding our Local Organic Food Sector? A Farmer’s Perspective

Date : 23rd March 2026 | 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Venue : Online
As more farmers are converting to organics, perhaps driven by ambitions to expand the local organic food sector, do the best for public health and animal welfare, as well as nature and climate, we look in detail at the operations of a recently converted mixed farm in the Borders.

Join the Scottish Agroecology Partnership for a discussion with Mark Runciman about his family’s project and his plans for the future. How he sells his meats and to whom. Raising questions about how we ‘normalise’ organics (as has been happening in the EU), what the public cares about, where the bottlenecks are, and more.

This session is suitable for anyone interested in a discussion about the different ways in which we can reach the public with the organic food we produce and what we might do to reach a wider set of people.
