Event
Yatesbury Farm Open Day
Visit Yatesbury House Farm to gain a deeper insight into their biodynamic farming philosophy – from how they cope with weeds, to how cattle are used to enhance soil health.
The Gantletts have been farming at Yatesbury since 1968. Richard and Charlotte Gantlett farm today, supported by their children with the primary purpose of growing the life in the soil. Experience and tradition is combined with a deep-rooted belief that farming should work together with Nature, not against it.
Visitors will have the chance to participate in farm tours and enjoy a shared lunch (included in ticket price).
The North Wessex Downs National Landscape will talk about their upcoming Organic Programme. This new and innovative 3 year programme will be a chance for farmers to be fully supported all the way through the conversion process. The programme will provide individual starting plans, ongoing advice from experts and local mentors as well as national organisations such as the Soil Association and Organic Growers Association, helping farmers become fully organic.
