Beverley Monitor Farm on Tour: Jonathan Hodgson, Great Newsome Farm
Join AHDB as they take the Monitor Farm programme on tour to Great Newsome Farm for a regenerative farm walk with Jonathan Hodgson.
Jonathan farms 280 hectares in East Yorkshire, mostly arable, growing a variety of crops including wheat, oilseed rape, vining peas, spring beans, spring oats, spring barley, flax, and herbal leys. He manages his farm to be as sustainable as possible with a focus on strip-till drilling and growing cover crops to maintain the health of the soil across his arable land.
They will also be joined on the day by soil expert Neil Fuller, who will be sharing the results of the soil health work he’s been doing with Yorkshire-based farmers, and Fiona Tweedie, Kings Crops Sustainable Farming Advisor, who will be on hand to answer questions on SFI and show how it’s used in action at Jonathan’s farm.
The tour will focus on the practices Jonathan is doing to improve soil health, reduce inputs, and manage risk:
What’s on the agenda?
