Caroline Liddell

Policy Adviser & PhD Researcher

I have always been interested in sustainable land use and ethical farming practices and fully believe in the principles and mission of Agricology. I am thrilled to be writing for this website, gaining experience in science communication and contributing to the promotion of sustainable agriculture.

I have a background in conservation and agroecology having studied BSc biology and MSc forest & nature conservation. I recently started working for Defra in the future farming team as a policy adviser for plant genetic resources. At the same time, I am working on my PhD in veterinary parasitology at the University of Bristol, investigating habitat use and parasite avoidance behaviour of sheep on a beautiful field site in Dartmoor – lucky me!

No matter what I am doing I would almost always rather be rowing!! Specifically in a traditional Cornish pilot gig boat out on the sea off the coast of Devon, Cornwall or even the Isles of Scilly – the bigger the waves the better! Most of the time you’ll find me on Bristol harbour though… dreaming of the sea.
