Caithness Women In Agriculture – Resilience: The Secret to Success

Date : 4th September 2025 | 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Venue : Ulbster Arms Hotel, Ulbster Arms Hotel, Halkirk KW12 6XY

Resilience is the ability to adapt and recover from difficulties, and one of the ways we build it is by re-framing the way we see challenges. Come along to this Caithness Women In Agriculture (WIA) event on Thursday 4th September to hear from Fiona MacIntosh from More than Motivation, who will be advising on how to deal with the way we respond to change. This event will give you an insight and understanding on learning about how to shift your response to challenges from focusing on what you cannot control to focusing on what you can control.

Local retired vet Frank Stephen will also speak about his personal resilience journey and how his focus to raise awareness of Alzheimer’s has seen him raise in the excess of £35K this year.

Cat MacGregor from SAC Consulting will finish up by explaining what FAS support is available for business who are looking to become more resilient.

The Farm Advisory Service has been running WIA events since 2017. The discussion groups and the Facebook group are open to all women working in Scottish agriculture, from those with daily involvement in a farm business, to those who are just starting out and interested in finding out more about farming. New attendees are always welcome, and you are welcome to join any meeting even if it is not in your local area. Meetings vary from daytime workshops to evening seminars. Find out more about their other WIA events here.
