Event
Farm carbon and paludiculture opportunities
You are invited to join AHDB for what will be the first Altcar Moss Monitor Farm winter meeting and there is plenty to discuss!
The meeting will cover
- Harvest 2024 update
- Winter report for 2025 cropping
- How did the typha planting go? (field visit)
Our first winter session is going to be a big one. What carbon opportunities are out there for farms and is paludiculture the answer for the North West? Special guest Mike Longden, from Lancashire Wildlife Trust, will be joining us to explore these lesser known opportunities and share how your farm can get involved too.
Ever wanted to know where to start regarding carbon auditing and calculators? We’ll be covering that too, as our monitor farm hosts question what direction they need to travel in this space and how to plan moving forward.
Registration and refreshments will be available from 10:30am, with presentations starting at 11:00am. A light lunch will be provided, before heading out to the typha field at Goose Meadow (weather permitting), so please bring suitable clothing/footwear.
BASIS and NRoSO points will be available for attending.
It is free to attend, but please register to allow us to cater accordingly and keep you up to date with any further details on this event.
