Walking and Talking Trees with the Imrie Family
At this Integrating Trees Network event, the Imrie family, who featured in the latest series of BBC’s This Farming Life, will introduce us to Hillhead, their 500 acre beef and sheep farm, including their award winning woodlands.
Planting trees has helped them to maximise productivity on their marginal land, provide shelter and shade, enhance the landscape and biodiversity and provide a business asset for the future.
We’ll discuss the process that changed a ‘No trees’ to a ‘Yes trees’, from the initial thought to the final decision to plant. We’ll talk about objectives, challenges, benefits and more.
We will also have a speaker from Scottish Forestry joining us to discuss funding and steps to woodland creation.
