Webinar – wild bee species and their conservation

Date : 27th November 2025 | 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

There are a huge range of bees of different sizes, colours and shapes in the south-west; bees that are important pollinators of most wild flowers and some of our commercial crops. Most of you will recognise a bumblebee but what about some of our 250 odd species of solitary bee?

This FWAG SW member’s webinar will refer to some of the groups of wild bee species and their different life strategies, including those that nest in our lawns, in our walls, in vole nests and in dead trees. It will also focus on some of the different wildlife crops, wild flower margins and field corners that help conserve and support some of the south-west’s wild bees.

Led by Alex Butler, Senior Farm Environment Adviser with FWAG SW who will also be on hand to answer your questions.
