Wigtownshire Women In Agriculture – Preparing for Greening Changes
Join the FAS Women In Agriculture (WIA) network for a farm walk to cover the upcoming Greening changes and how they will affect your business. Meeting at Waulkmill Farm, Sorbie, attendees will walk over fields to assess potential greening options for both grassland and arable farms followed by lunch and discussion at Whauphill Hall. The event will provide a chance to go over the finer details of policy changes and attendees will have the opportunity to discuss the options for their individual businesses.
Please note the farm walk will be up a gentle hill, so appropriate footwear is required. Vehicle access may be possible, weather dependant. Parking around village, however no access to public toilets until lunchtime.
The Farm Advisory Service has been running WIA events since 2017. The discussion groups and the Facebook group are open to all women working in Scottish agriculture, from those with daily involvement in a farm business, to those who are just starting out and interested in finding out more about farming. New attendees are always welcome, and you are welcome to join any meeting even if it is not in your local area. Meetings vary from daytime workshops to evening seminars. Find out more about their other WIA events here.
