Event
The Wild Summit
On Thursday 11 September at the Bristol Beacon, Wildlife and Countryside Link will host a day to celebrate nature in the UK and discuss the collective action needed to restore it.
Nature brings immense value to our lives, the economy, and communities. Whether it’s protecting people from flooding and extreme weather, supporting rural areas and food production, helping tackle climate change, or improving mental health – nature underpins it all.
The first Wild Summit will bring together nature lovers, community campaigners, businesses, politicians, officials, and policy experts for a day of presentations, panel discussions, workshops, and conversations focused on the critical importance of investing in nature. The event will celebrate the incredible work being done by charities, community groups, innovators, and land managers, while also exploring the vital roles of tourism, research, skills development, and corporate and government projects in restoring the natural world.
The goal? To help the UK halt and reverse nature’s decline by 2030.
Why now?
The UK has signed an ambitious global agreement to halt and reverse the decline of nature by the end of this decade. However, with just five years left until the deadline, nature is still facing rapid decline.
The Wild Summit will showcase the vital role nature plays in daily lives and highlight the urgent need for large-scale investment and action.
What is the Wild Summit all about?
The Wild Summit is about coming together to make real change happen. It is a day for sharing knowledge, forging partnerships, and inspiring action. It’s about celebrating what’s already working, while also asking: how can we do more and do better?
Wildlife and Countryside Link’s vision is to restore Britain’s natural heritage and safeguard it for generations to come.
What can you expect on the day?
With over 100 speakers and more than 30 sessions, the inaugural Wild Summit will offer an extensive programme of keynote presentations, partner events, panel discussions and practical workshops on everything from nature-friendly farming to freshwater, planning policy to natural capital.
