Bringing the Urban-Rural Divide: Fully Funded Media Education Opportunity for Farmers

Just Farmers is offering farmers and growers the chance to attend a fully-funded Media Education workshop with the aim of building confidence and communication skills at the grassroots of British agriculture.

About the workshops

Successful applicants will be able to access two media education workshops, to improve their understanding of how the media works and what journalists need to do their job.

During the workshops participants will explore the relationship between the public and the media; learn what the media wants by developing news sense and editorial judgement, do interview exercises, story-pitching sessions, and Q&As with guest journalists.

Practical elements include introductions to TV, Radio, Podcasting, Writing, Filming on Your Phone and Social Media. (Please see their FAQs page for more information.)

The workshops are run by media professionals who still work within the industry and have a connection to agriculture. 

The next workshop will take place on the 12th and 13th May at the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate.
