I split my time working as the project officer for the Farm Carbon Cutting Toolkit and as a technical specialist in Resource Management for Duchy College. Both jobs allow me to do what I love, namely talking to farmers and growers about efficiency and managing natural resources. Although I’m not from a farming family, before I came into project work, I spent a very happy 5 years milking cows, and now run a community farm in West Devon with 60 local families coming together to grow and produce local food.
I have been very lucky this year to have been awarded a Nuffield scholarship which is looking at how to communicate carbon reduction schemes to farmers which will be a once in a lifetime experience, and will shape future work.
