In 2019, AHDB Farmbench invited farmers to benchmark one or more of their organic cereal and oilseed enterprises with the AHDB Farmbench tool and join a group of other organic farmers for a chance to compare outcomes and discuss results.

Farmers and researchers explore the potential for improving nitrogen (N) efficiency in organic rotations. Organic principles and standards emphasise the importance of practices that can encourage the long-term health and fertility of agricultural soils. Effective crop rotation, cultivation regimes and organic fertiliser application are therefore important elements of the organic approach.
