The Farm for the Future programme with Pasture for Life

Funded by Royal Countryside Fund

With funding from the Royal Countryside Fund, Pasture for Life are delivering the Farm for the Future programme through a series of business and environmental workshops aimed at supporting farmers and land managers/owners to improve their resilience and prepare for agricultural policy changes.

The Farm for the Future programme aims to:

  • Help farms to better understand and prepare for the agriculture policy changes that affect the future of their farm businesses
  • Provide farmers with tools and advice to adapt business models
  • Allow them to understand how to practically improve the management of their farmed environment and how this will financially benefit their business
  • Provide information of existing or new opportunities available, including Defra’s three environment land management schemes: Sustainable Farming Incentive, Local Nature Recovery and Landscape Recovery.

What PfL are offering:

  • Free membership to PfL for 1 year
  • Free 1:1 tailored support session for your farm
  • Free workshop on farm business planning
  • Free workshop on environmental support schemes
  • Free series of farm workshops focusing on a range of regenerative agriculture topics, such as agroecology, mob grazing, soil health, overwintering 
  • Opportunities to visit other farms in your region
  • Bespoke support for farmers finding it difficult to attend events.

When are these taking place:

Two day workshop:

  • 21st and 22nd November 2024 at Shimpling Park Farm, Bury St Edmonds, Suffolk
  • 27th and 28th November 2024 at the Royal Agricultural University, Cirencester

1 day workshops:

  • Each month from September 2024 through to January 2025 throughout the East Midlands

How can you get involved: 

Any farmer who is, or has been, in receipt of BPS, can attend free of charge*.

Farm for the Future is funded by Defra’s Future Farming Resilience Fund.

*subject to having not engaged with any other Farm for the Future funded projects.
