My background is in events and marketing with the BBC and London 2012 Olympics, combined with practical experience in the organic food industry.

I developed an interest in sustainable food production from my upbringing on a farm in Ireland, which was reinforced by spending a year at Ballymaloe Cookery School, understanding the principles of organic farming and two years at Daylesford Organic in Gloucestershire.

At Edinburgh University, I gained a masters in Carbon Management (MSc) at the Business School, following my undergraduate degree in Geography (BSc) where I focused on paleo-climates, using pollen cores to understand vegetation patterns in Ireland at the end of the last Ice Age.
