Exploring the opportunities for agroforestry in Wales

Date : 9th April 2024 | 10:00 am - 4:30 pm
Venue : Glandwr SA34 0YD United Kingdom

This Soil Association event is for farmers, land managers and advisors. The event is free to attend, a light lunch and refreshments will also be included.

Join Tom and Jacqui from Pembrokeshire Agroforestry to explore the opportunities tree planting may have for farmers and landowners. This event will suit farmers and landowners interested in learning how agroforestry can support and offer resilience to farms in Wales.

Tom and Jacqui are in the process of setting up a tree nursery business and have planted a great diversity of productive tree systems at Pencedni. This includes a grazed Walnut orchard, an apple orchard, a woodlot with trees for specialist timber markets, tree barns and tree hay. The session aims to be flexible, covering all aspects of tree selection, planting, and maintenance for successful establishment. With Tom’s excellent knowledge and experience, he can offer advice and support to farmers and landowners interested in agroforestry. Tom is also a mentor with Farming Connect Wales.
