Grassland Weed Challenge: Strategies for Success (Machynlleth)
Join Farming Connect for the second in their series of on-farm events to discuss effective grassland weed management strategies with 2025 shortlisted national agronomist of the year Daniel Lievesley (DJL Agriculture).
The event at Penamaendyfi will explore practical techniques and long-term solutions to ensure healthy and productive leys. It will cover:
- The importance of assessing grassland weeds, identifying key species, and determining the need for intervention;
- The strategic use of herbicides, emphasising the crucial role of timing for optimal effectiveness and minimal impact and also the potential of new clover-safe sprays;
- The benefits and timing of alternative weed control methods;
- The crucial management changes needed to prevent weed recurrence and the underlying factors influencing weed growth.
