About the farm:
Join Richard and family on a farm walk to explore how they have incorporated Silvopasture onto their Biodynamic mixed farm.
Silvopasture was initially introduced to Yatesbury House Farm by allowing their Aberdeen Angus herd controlled access to the farm woodlands and copses for shelter and shade. This brought previously neglected areas of the farm back into management for both the benefit of habitat and their herds animal health and welfare.
Convinced by the value trees can bring to their farming system, the family has planted a 7.5 ha Silvopasture fruit and nut field, incorporating fruit species such as apples and walnuts in a way that fits into their rotational grazing model.
We will also be joined by a member of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust (WWT), who will talk about the support they can offer farmers and landowners.
