What are green manures and how can they improve the quality of our soil? Join us on this entry level day as we explore the theory and practice behind this approach. We will look at which seed mixtures suit different soil types and systems, and the benefits and diverse uses of these plants.
Learn how to establish, manage and terminate the crop for optimum benefit, when to sow and what seed rate to use. We will visit the market garden at FarmED to see how they successfully use green manures in their rotation and also discuss how we use them on our arable land.
